Plans for WaraWara and Burrowing Owl nests

Since we are in a very rural area of the island and we love to give the local fauna a helping hand, following are some of my plans, that I have been discussing with Gian Nuñes from the Arikok National Park, regarding putting up some nesting sites on the property. Most of the material has already been acquired and is on premises. I have 2 tentative spots for the Shoko (Burrouging owl’s) nests and a possible location for a Wara Wara nest. Following some some pictures of our plans.

Above the design we are planning to use for the artificial burrows for the Shoko’s Back when I used to have a 60ft high Antenna tower for my Radio Amateur Antennas in the back yard, we always would have Wara Wara’s camping for hours on the Antennas. That’s why I’m looking forward to maybe build a special nesting site for them.
